Inspired Design: A Kitchen Story with Wolf

When I design a kitchen, I’m always thinking beyond cabinets, finishes, and layouts. I’m thinking about the moments that will unfold there—the dinner parties, the quiet morning coffees, the late-night chats over tea. To me, a kitchen is about how it feels as much as how it functions.

That’s why working with Wolf and Riggs Distributing on this project felt so natural. Their appliances don’t just deliver on performance; they inspire the kind of experiences that make a home feel alive.

In this San Francisco kitchen, the new black dual fuel range by Wolf became the anchor of the design. When we placed it against the marble and warm wood backdrop, it immediately brought drama and presence. But it’s more than just beautiful. With the precision of gas burners up top and the consistency of an electric oven below, this range gives my clients the confidence to cook at a professional level, whether it’s a weeknight pasta or a holiday feast.

The other hero of this space is the Wolf steam oven. I’ll admit, once you cook with steam, it’s hard to go back. The first time I roasted vegetables in it, I was struck by how vibrant and flavorful they were. No need for extra oils, no drying out, just pure taste. Bread comes out with a perfect crust, and even leftovers feel like they’ve been freshly prepared. For my clients, who value both wellness and convenience, the steam oven has been transformative. It makes healthy cooking approachable, and it elevates everyday meals into something special.

Designing with these appliances reminded me why I love this work so much. It’s not just about creating a luxury kitchen—it’s about creating a stage for life to unfold beautifully. Sub-Zero and Wolf allow me to design kitchens that are soulful and modern, rooted in story but elevated by performance.
